The game combines the classic hand-drawn backgrounds of the first two games with cel-shaded character models bringing together the old and the new. More importantly, Broken Sword is filled with puzzles, a great story and enjoyable characters to keep you entertained from start to end. This is in large part due to the game being riddled with bugs, a terrible side quest system forcing players to use a mobile app and microtransactions.
Many of these issues have been addressed but issues are still being reported with the game such as wiping over player saves on the Xbox One potentially losing hours of progress. It put gamers in the shoes of the Templars which allowed for an interesting gameplay dynamic forcing you to fight off assassination attempts. The game was remastered for modern consoles and definitely worth a second look.

Also, the game's combat mechanic of launching trash cans into opponents seems both ill-fitting and off-putting. Ubisoft may have been a bit ahead of their time with this hidden gem. Before the NFL license was taken over EA, there were a number of titles by various developers that offered unique approaches on pro football, with varying degrees of quality and success. You had the very non- Madden, arcade-based insanity of NFL Blitz, though you also had some games that adhered to a similar nuanced sporting sim approach.
Still, the quality didn't always measure up to the Madden standard. This entry, in particular, feels dull, repetitive, and comes with some questionable AI to boot.
The game also fails to add much of note from the previous entry. This game was really ahead of its time - at least with its emphasis on online gaming. While you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone online in the barren ruins that comprise the Phantasy Star Online servers, the actual gameplay still holds up. It contains some endlessly addictive co-op multiplayer featuring plenty of colorful environments and diversity of weapons and abilities to play around with.
It's quite apparent these days that the rapid-paced platforming style of Sonic games doesn't translate well to the 3D realm. In the early s though, this notion wasn't established; understandable, since the first 2 attempts at 3D Sonic games were actually pretty solid.
But then Sonic Heroes happened, along with a slew of less-than-satisfactory attempts to reinvent Sonic. While certainly not the worst in the series Sonic '06 anyone? Wonky mechanics, limiting on-rails gameplay, and cringe-worthy voice acting bog down an otherwise sufficient platformer. The cell-shaded visuals and exhilarating " Tony Hawk with graffiti" style in the cult hit, Jet Grind Radio, certainly drew the attention of many Dreamcast gamers, seemingly coming out of nowhere.

Though it further fleshes out the arguably simple experience with interconnected stages, new objectives, and several multiplayer modes. Grinding on rails and spray-painting random walls has never been so fun! I remember hearing a good deal of hype surrounding this game, while I was busy smashing it up with GameCube's Super Smash Bros. Perhaps this game would be Microsoft's cool, edgy and maybe more nuanced version of that, featuring the iconic martial artist Bruce Lee?
Maybe it would be the next generation of Street Fighter? A fighting game where you get to kick some behind as Bruce himself? Surely this must be awesome! The apparent betrayal of the chapter by Gabriel Angelos and his Space Marines has shaken the Blood Ravens and now the Imperial forces are beset on all sides by hostile aliens. Based heavily on Japanese folklore, you play as Amaterasu, a divine wolf goddess with the power to change the world with a magical paintbrush. You'll have to solve puzzles and fight enemies by drawing different shapes with the analog stick or Wii remote, in the Wii version. It's one of the prettiest games ever made, and that alone is worth the price. It can and should be finished in a single minute sitting. You play as Kaitlin Greenbriar, who just got back from a trip to Europe to find your family's home empty and in a state of slight disarray.

Set in the mids, "Gone Home" also doubles as a great game for people who really like riot grrrl punk music and other nostalgic artifacts from the era. You can listen to punk cassette tapes or look at fake Nintendo cartridges! Everybody wins! I'm going to cut straight to the point: "Rez" is one of the coolest video games ever made.
Do not trust anyone who disagrees. Think of "Rez" as a musical, cyberpunk version of "Star Fox. The coolest part is that all of your shots sync up to the beat of the music, which gradually gets more intense throughout the level. It will even support PlayStation VR!
